The ‘non-issue’ everyone is talking about

Have you noticed the way the rest of the media discusses the Barack Obama eligibility story?
Everyone from Ann Coulter and Michael Medved and Neal Boortz on the right to Geraldo Rivera and Chris Matthews and CNN’s heretofore unknown president want you to know there’s nothing to talk about here.
But yet they keep on talking about it. And they never really explain why they are talking about it and why it’s not worth talking about – other than the fact that it’s all been researched before and Barack Obama really is a “natural born citizen.”
Now, as one of only a handful of colleagues who has actually investigated this matter – most of whom work for me – I would like to understand from these people how that little matter was settled. Is one of them capable of uttering even one articulate, coherent statement that would help me understand how Obama established his constitutional eligibility for office?
Did he produce an actual long-form birth certificate that would show which doctor delivered him and in whichhospital?
Who are the two U.S. citizen parents to whom he was born – an absolute requirement to be a “natural born citizen” circa 1961?
Why do these media people show so little natural curiosity about the conflicting stories that have been dished out by Hawaiian officials claiming they have inspected the original document and later claiming the original document was destroyed in 2001?
Can any of these people point to any official document from Obama’s past that he has willingly released?
Now, I like Ann Coulter. I consider her a good friend. But when she starts hurling labels like “crank” toward me and my news agency – the only one, by the way, that has thoughtfully, meticulously and thoroughly investigated this matter for 11 months – I take offense.
I expect what I get from the others. When the facts finally come out – and they will – I doubt I will get an apology from any of them except Coulter.
But clearly, this is not a left-right issue. This is not a conservative-liberal issue. This is not a Democrat-Republican issue. This is not an ideological issue. This is a matter of what’s true and what’s not. It’s a matter as simple as whether we take the Constitution seriously and do our best to see that it is honored and observed and defended.
When Ann Coulter suggests this matter was investigated by all the conservative publications, like Human Events, American Spectator and something called the Sweetness & Light Blog, I have to laugh. WND does more investigative reporting in one day than any of these ideologically driven punditry journals do in a year.
Everyone knows who made this story come to life in the last two months and how. WND did it. We did it with solid reporting that has not been refuted by anyone. It has been scoffed at. It has been denigrated. It has been maligned. But the good questions we have raised have not been answered.
I’m gratified that in recent months, Rush Limbaugh has emerged as a media giant who gets it.
I’m gratified that in recent weeks, Lou Dobbs has championed the story.
I’m also gratified that, by any standard you want to measure it – scientific polls, unscientific polls, anecdotal evidence – Americans are becoming more aware of this issue and demanding that Obama come clean.
Can I ask what’s wrong with that?
Why are the rest of the media in apoplectic hysterics over the fact that Americans actually want to see the Constitution honored to the letter of the law?
It hasn’t been yet with regard to Obama’s qualifications. That is simply a fact. It is undeniable. No controlling legal authority has examined this issue – not the Congress, the Supreme Court, the Electoral College, the Federal Elections Commission or any state election officials.
Since when do we as a civil society outsource our constitutional vetting to Snopes.com, a husband-wife rumor-busting team whose research is limited to online searches, and the Annenberg-associated FactCheck.org? Are these unimpeachable sources? Are they incapable of error or being led by their own political biases?
Why is everyone so afraid of asking Obama simply to release his birth certificate – and, for that matter, everything else he is hiding?

Here are some more documents Obama has also bin hidin:

“Where is the curiosity among my media colleagues?” Farah asked. “If this were Watergate, would they be calling the story dead because of the 18-and-a-half-minute gap in the recording? This is incredible!”

Obama’s birth certificate is not the only document at issue. WND has reported that among the documentation not yet available for Obama includes his kindergarten records, Punahou school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles,  scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, files from his years as an Illinois state senator, Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records and his adoption records.

Now that definitely qualifies Barack Obama as an undocumented president!
